James Casey Fos, Esq. was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and now resides in Covington, Louisiana. Mr. Fos graduated from at Archbishop Rummel high school, where he took German classes. Mr. Fos continued to study German at the University of New Orleans.
While in college, Mr. Fos was selected for a prestigious Fulbright Scholarship to study at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. At the University of Innsbruck, Mr. Fos spent five semesters studying politics, history, and economics (all in German). After his studies in Austria, Mr. Fos returned to study law at Tulane University. Upon graduation and admittance to the bar, Mr. Fos practiced law in Kenner, Louisiana for two years.
In 1994, he accepted employment with a US law firm, practicing in Frankfurt, Germany. While in Germany, Mr. Fos litigated cases involving United States military contracts. Mr. Fos helped manage the litigation portfolio of a world-wide accounting firm, and he also worked on cross border mergers and acquisitions - companies buying and selling each other. After 10 years of living abroad, Mr. Fos returned home to Louisiana and began practicing law in Louisiana. Mr. Fos did not want to work for a large faceless company, but instead he wanted to work for real people.
Mr. Fos has practiced law in most of the courtrooms in the parishes of Southeast Louisiana. Mr. Fos has represented many clients helping them to set-up small businesses and guided them through their start-up issues. In addition, Mr. Fos is also very experienced in successions and estates. Mr. Fos also has court room experience both in the Louisiana and in Germany.
Not only is Mr. Fos one of the few people to receive a prestigious Fulbright Scholarship, but he also earned his law degree from Tulane University Law School, which continuously ranked as one of the best law schools in America by U.S. News & World Report. In addition, Mr. Fos is one of the rare attorneys who has also earned a Masters Degree in Law (L.LM).
